Faith Versus Trust
Author: Creflo Dollar
Summary:
While many of us have faith, we may not have learned to trust God completely. Faith and trust are two different things.
- We succeed when we place our complete trust in God (Jeremiah 17:7, AMP, Psalm 34:8).
- When we authentically trust God, we seek Him before we do anything else.
- We have to examine our lives and be sure we are truly relying on God.
- Relying on people instead of God sets us up for failure (Jeremiah 17:5, AMP).
- We cannot rely on our own understanding of situations and circumstances (Proverbs 3:5, AMP).
- Instead, we must focus on what God has said.
- There is a distinction between faith and trust.
- Faith is confidence.
- Your faith can fail; trust will not (Luke 22:32, Hebrews 10:35).
- The enemy will work hard to cause you to lose your confidence.
- Trust is commitment.
- When we trust God, we are unbeatable because we become one with Him through our commitment to trust Him.
- When we trust God completely, we become like a mountain that cannot be moved (Psalm 125:1).
- The Apostle Paul trusted God because he was sure of His love for him (Romans 8:35-39, AMP).
- Likewise, we should also know that nothing can separate us from the love of God.
- Trust is eternal; it stands out and cannot be moved.
- Enter into God’s rest
- God only fights when we rest (2 Chronicles 20:17).
- Rest releases divine intervention.
- God tells us to “Be still and know that I am God …” (Psalm 46:10).
- Can trust in God enrich our lives?
- Those who give liberally will have abundance; they reap what they sow (Proverbs 11:25).
- Those who trust the Lord will increase abundantly (Proverbs 28:25).
- Your diligence will also cause you to be enriched (Proverbs 13:4).
