Salvation for Here and Now

Print

Many people know about God without actually having a relationship with Him, but not comprehending the difference can lead to the mistaken notion that salvation is only available after we die. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, salvation is actually available to us now, not later. God has offered to save us from the present—not the future—evil world. This is because of His favor toward us, and the fact that He wants to have an impact on our lives right now.

Too many people think salvation only applies in the hereafter, but God wants us to know that it’s relevant and significant to us every day. Some people don’t make the connection between salvation and the issues going on in their lives. Salvation means healing, deliverance, prosperity, abundance, peace, and everything we need, in this life. All we need to do to receive this gift of salvation is to accept it by faith.

Salvation is a package deal, and it brings us multiple benefits. These benefits include not only forgiveness and healing, but also redemption, mercy, and right-standing with God. This radically transforms our entire lives; therefore we must never forget the significance of what Jesus did when He purchased our salvation with the shedding of His blood. Developing a relationship with Him allows His Spirit of wisdom to reveal the depth of this gift to us, and what it means for our lives.

Prayer:

God, everything we need to enjoy the life You want us to have is available to us right now, not sometime later. Your Son shed His blood and died to redeem us and offer us salvation because You only want the best for us. In Jesus’ name, thank You. Amen.
