The world’s version of Christmas revolves around secular traditions. The sparkle and flash of the holiday is exciting, but it distracts us from its real meaning. Before Jesus’ birth, all men were born sinners because of Adam and Eve’s sin in the garden of Eden. God was at war with mankind because of his sinful nature; Jesus was born to be the propitiation and the payment for the penalty for sin. He bled and died on the cross to move our destination from hell to heaven. What God did through Christ for our salvation He did out of love, without us having to do anything to earn it. As we celebrate with the giving of gifts and spending time with loved ones, we mustn’t forget Jesus.
