World Changers Church International Marks Historic 30th Anniversary

Creflo and Taffi Dollar celebrate 3 decades of service

ATLANTA, GA—February 2, 2015 – World Changers Church International, headquartered in College Park, Georgia, will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Sunday February 7th. This international ministry, pastored by Creflo and Taffi Dollar, started with only eight people and has now grown to reach billions of people around the world with the good news of God’s love and grace! The church will mark the historic milestone with a celebratory event at 10:00 a.m. this Sunday at The World Dome in College Park.

World Changers Ministries started with a room full of West Georgia College students studying God’s Word and asking hard questions of a young student minister named Creflo Dollar. Dollar named the Bible study, ‘World Changers’ and it quickly grew to more than 100 students. It was at one of these Bible studies that Creflo Dollar met Taffi Bolton. They married in December of 1986, the same year that World Changers Ministries held its first service in the cafeteria of Kathleen Mitchell Elementary School. Pastor Creflo Dollar has since worked tirelessly to create an all-inclusive, non-exclusive church environment where people feel loved, are taught the Word of God and receive the message of God’s Grace.

This anniversary is truly historic, as World Changers Church International has maintained its headquarters in College Park, even as the ministry has expanded to have a national and international footprint that impacts lives all around the globe. After 30 years, the ministry now has tens of thousands attending weekly worship services in 30 locations, millions more streaming live on the Internet, humanitarian relief efforts that assist people around the world and a media outreach that stretches to six continents and reaches over a billion people!

In anticipation of the anniversary, social media sites have been flooded with testimonies of how the church and its Pastors have helped people change their lives, many utilizing the hashtags, #WorldChangers and #ThanksFor30. The gratitude has been especially evident in metropolitan Atlanta, where the church has done so much to make a difference in people’s lives all across the region.

February 4th has been designated “World Changers Day” at the Georgia State Capitol. For the first time ever, two pastors from one church are serving as Chaplains of the Day – Pastor Taffi in the State Senate and Dr. Dollar in the House of Representatives – on the same day! In addition, State Senator Donzella James has proposed to honor Pastor Dollar for his many years of good works in the community by dedicating a local road in his honor. “This is a church that's doing things in the community to make things better,” James told the press.
