God’s grace affects us on a deep level and comes to us in our everyday living. It’s good to know the Bible, but our emphasis shouldn’t be on the specific Scriptures we know; it should be on how gracious we are as people. During His ministry, Jesus was operating in a patriarchal society but was deliberate and intentional in empowering women and showing them equal favor. This was demonstrated when He came to visit Mary and Martha and allowed Mary to sit in His presence to learn from Him; at that time this was unheard of. In an era when men routinely dominated women, Jesus leveled the playing field and established biblical equality. God loves and values all of us, regardless of gender. Letting Christ influence our thinking improves our relationships with others on every level.
