Experiencing Transformation in Our Lives

Print

Our beliefs are very important to God, and they determine whether we struggle and live in defeat, or walk in the grace that causes us to win. We all want to live right, but that’s only possible when our belief system lines up with the Word of God. Getting born again and immediately receiving a new spirit makes us as perfect and blameless as Jesus, but this is just the first step. For any transformation to take place in our lives, we must wholeheartedly believe that we are new creations.

Some people struggle with the idea of receiving good things they don’t deserve because it is so foreign to them. God has given us health, prosperity, peace, joy, victory, and many other grace gifts, but it’s hard for us to understand this until we change the way we think. After we’re born again, our old, unrenewed mind remains. We must renew our minds with the Word. If we don’t, our old attitudes and mindsets will resurface and cause us problems.

The world tells us over and over that no one is perfect; and that’s true for anyone living in the flesh and relying on themselves to behave right. But with Christ in us, we can truly say we’ve been perfected. On our own, we don’t have what it takes to be perfect, but we do when we rely on Jesus. We were previously sinners, but now we’re sinless in God’s eyes.

The challenge comes when we face the world’s direct contradiction of what the Bible says about this. Others will tell us we’re still sinners when they see us sin, but our behavior is not who we are. Internalizing this truth is the key to our transformation.

Prayer:

Lord, You showed grace to me even before I knew You. You cared enough to save me from the world’s destruction, and You made me perfect through Your Son. Even when I was a “baby Christian,” You had the patience to stay by my side and walk with me every step of the way! I thank You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
