One Ministry, One Church, One Message Worldwide
The weekly meditation scripture and inspirational nugget are designed to encourage you in your walk with God, strengthen your faith and give you a specific scripture to meditate on all week long. To get the most out of these weekly scriptures, we encourage you to keep them before you every day and apply them to your life and circumstances. Declare them daily and stay focused on them until you experience true results.
Influence is a powerful force that can be used either for good or for evil. We can influence others to do the right thing or the wrong thing, simply by setting an example with our speech or behavior. God empowers us to sow His word into others’ lives with the help of the Holy Spirit, Who reveals to us the most effective way to influence people with whom we come into contact. At the first Pentecost, the Holy Spirit showed the power of His influence, and, likewise, we can use His guidance today to reach the lost.
Our influence rubs off on others when they’re in our presence. When God is living inside us and working through us, they can’t help but be influenced by Him. He gives us what we need to witness to people in various ways, whether it’s sharing a Scripture or two, providing a word of encouragement, or simply offering a smile. When we yield ourselves to the Spirit’s prompting, we greatly impact others’ lives without even being aware of it.
We could never witness the way God commands us to if we use our own efforts or willpower; the supernatural efficiency and ability to minister like this comes from Him. One of the most effective ways of witnessing to others is to tell our testimony of how God transformed us and radically changed our lives. It may seem simple to us, but planting a seed like this into someone else’s life can have an astounding effect months, or even years, later. We may not see the harvest from the seed we plant, but it can cause others to come to Christ.
We do our part by sowing the Word of God; after that, faith is required for us to step back and let Him do the work. We’ve been commissioned to spread the Good News. We can do this by deliberately exerting our influence and using our God-given talents and abilities to reach out to others.
God, You gave me the Holy Spirit to empower me to witness to others. There’s a whole world of hurting people who need to hear from You, and through Your grace, You allow me to be Your representative. The opportunity to be an ambassador for Christ is a huge blessing that I don’t deserve, but You gave me this gift through Your grace. Thank You for this, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
