One Ministry, One Church, One Message Worldwide
The weekly meditation scripture and inspirational nugget are designed to encourage you in your walk with God, strengthen your faith and give you a specific scripture to meditate on all week long. To get the most out of these weekly scriptures, we encourage you to keep them before you every day and apply them to your life and circumstances. Declare them daily and stay focused on them until you experience true results.
If we frequently struggle with issues that get the best of us and constantly feel defeated by situations we can’t handle, it may be due to the way we think. Many of us have learned negative ways of thinking that hold us back, and we wonder why we can’t make progress in life. To achieve victory, first we need to change our attitudes and mental outlook so that our resulting behavior reflects our beliefs. Using the Scriptures as our guide in this area leads to real life transformation.
God loves us just as we are and He welcomes us with all our emotional baggage, but He wants to transform us for the better. Learning right-believing according to His Word is the antidote to any guilt, shame, or addictions causing us pain. We learn by studying and meditating on the Scriptures and asking the Holy Spirit to help us properly apply them to our particular situation. Renewing our minds brings us into an understanding of what God’s will is for our lives because it aligns our thoughts with His thoughts.
We don’t have to let painful, shameful things tie us to our past. When we get born again, we become new creations in Christ. Through His grace, God takes away our old sinful nature and replaces it with a nature as holy and perfect as His. Our past is gone and our future is bright, but we need to retrain our minds to keep them from returning to hurtful things in the past that have no more power over us.
We can now move forward without fear or doubt. Even when we make mistakes, we can still press on toward the perfection Jesus has already made possible for us. The world will tell us nobody’s perfect, and on our own merits this is true. But, through Christ, we obtain not only perfection but joy, peace, prosperity, deliverance, and everything else we need for the successful life He wants us to have.
Father God, You gave us Your Son as a living example of how to think and how to live. We no longer have to define ourselves the way the world does because Your grace redefines us. We thank You, in Jesus’ name, for Your illumination in this area. Amen.
