The Reality of God’s Promises

Print

There’s something to be said about walking on firm footing that doesn’t shift under our feet. Anyone who’s ever needed the stability that something solid and unchanging brings to their lives needs to look no further than God’s Word. In an ever-changing world that leaves us guessing as to what’s real and what’s not, His Word is something we need.

To those who don’t believe it, the preaching of the cross is foolishness; however, for Christians, the power of His promises is real. Those promises include healing, financial stability, deliverance from trouble, peace, joy, and success. When we see others struggling but failing, we know that we’ve already received everything we need in life to succeed. God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

The physical blessings we enjoy begin as spiritual blessings. Faith is our positive response to what grace has done; when we use our faith to receive what grace has made available to us, we’ll eventually see manifestations on the physical level. Our belief is the key that unlocks it all; the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, but not all men have been saved because not everyone chooses to believe in the promises.

Religion tells us we have to ask God for His blessings. The truth is that they’re already inside of us if we’ve been born again and Jesus is living in us. What we do need to ask for is the wisdom to discern His will for us in daily circumstances. When we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things will be added to us.

God can deliver us, regardless of the situation. He promises that all things work together for good, for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. God is no myth, and His grace is no fantasy. When we need help, He’s the only one we can rely on.

Prayer:

God, when everything else in life we depend on shifts and crumbles under our feet, Your promises are the only thing we can trust. Christ is the unchanging Rock we can stand on, and He gives us firm footing. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
