God’s grace is more powerful than we realize. We all may see things in our lives that we’d like to see changed; however, any external change always begins on the inside. We can try to change ourselves, but until we trust God to take care of us, nothing will come of our efforts. He’s well able to weed out all the bad in us and replace it with good things.

The world has a way of tearing us down and telling us we’re nothing. If we listen to its message long enough, we’ll begin to believe it. That’s a dangerous place to be, but deliverance from this is available. Trusting ourselves to God and to the Word of His Grace allows Him to build us up.

We may have done things in the past we’re ashamed of. Although there’s no changing the past, getting born again is a game-changer. It allows the Holy Spirit to come live in us and change the things about ourselves we can’t do anything about on our own. If any man is in Christ, he’s a new creature; old things have passed away and all things have become new.

Our past means less to God than our future. He can take an ugly past and make something beautiful from it. When we’re struggling with an issue and things seem to be spiraling downward, giving the situation to Him turns things around. All things work together for good, for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

God’s will is always to strengthen, encourage, and bless us. The beautiful thing about God is that although He never changes, we can when we follow His lead. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Beholding Jesus, instead of any temporary problems in our way, changes us into the same image.

Prayer:

Lord, without Your help we would be stuck in our past mistakes with no way to move forward. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit works in us to change us for the better. We’re grateful for this. In Jesus’ name, amen.
