FOR THE WEEK OF October 03, 2016

We Need God To Guide Us

Print

How can you produce Godly results without God’s guidance? Many Believers know that God wants certain things established in their lives: peace, soundness of mind, good health, loving relationships, excellent character, financial increase, debt freedom, fulfilled dreams, and the list goes on. But many of those same people don’t understand that none of these things can be established without God’s guidance.

We live in a time in which Believers try to rest in money, or relationships with the “right” people, or in what they can do to make something happen, instead of completely resting in God. God wants us to rest in Him, so that He can guide and bless us. Hebrews 4:1 says we should fear lest any of us come short of a promise of entering into God’s rest. The Scripture deliberately emphasizes entering into the rest. This is a priority, and all other things depend on it. If we fail to rest in God, we won’t receive His guidance in our everyday lives. If we fail to receive His guidance, we won’t access His promises. It is not that God won’t guide us, it is that we won’t be in the proper position to receive, the position of rest.

We do not have to labor to get God to heal, deliver, or save us. We are to labor to rest. Hebrews 4:9-11 says there remains a rest for the people of God. For He that enters into His rest, has also ceased from His own works, as God did from His. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Note that this Scripture does not say labor to get healed, to prosper, or to be delivered. We are specifically commanded to labor to enter into God’s rest.

When we labor to rest, we are in position to receive God’s guidance and His best.

Prayer:

Father, I humble myself under Your mighty hand, acknowledging that I need You. Guide me throughout this week and every week. Give me revelation knowledge on what I am supposed to do and when I am supposed to do it. Everything I will ever need in this life can be found in You. I trust You and I am so thankful that You love me. It is in Jesus’ name that I pray. Amen.
