We all know someone who was sick or injured at one time, and usually the person recovered under a doctor’s care. Sometimes, though, their health continued to deteriorate, and no one could do anything to save them. Situations like this are frustrating at best and heart-breaking at worst, and it’s a helpless feeling having to stand by and watch loved ones suffer. But when we study our Bible, we see that healing is actually God’s will for those who believe the promises He makes to us

When we consider people we see at random, it’s very likely that many of them don’t know what true love is really all about. They may think they do, based on the romantic love depicted on television and in movies. But when we pick up our Bible and begin studying it, our eyes are opened to its true meaning. Love comes directly from God, and He has deliberately aimed it squarely at us.

If you’ve ever wondered if you could trust someone with a secret or with something very valuable, you probably remember the nervous feeling of hope mixed with uncertainty as you opened yourself up to that person. People can make mistakes and let you down, and placing your trust in another person takes a great deal of courage. Although others can betray that trust, God never will. When you learn to trust Him in all circumstances, you’ll find a peace that you won’t understand but will truly welcome.

Watching the news or reading the newspaper, we can’t help but notice the periodic disturbing reports of children and teens involved in some type of crime. We instinctively know this is wrong, but many people don’t know how to react or what to do. The easiest way to deal with it is punishment or jail time, but this is not a long-term solution. Like any other group, young people go wrong because there’s something important missing from their lives, and that missing element is Jesus Christ.

We are not alone.” If this phrase conjures up images of aliens, flying saucers, and outer space, then you’re probably like many others who have accepted Hollywood’s version of this catch phrase. But there’s also a biblical meaning to it that can’t be ignored. When we face life’s inevitable pain and struggles, God’s promise to walk with us in our darkest times means we’ll never have to walk alone.
