The Balance of Grace and Faith (Part 6)
SummaryGod never intended for us to live exclusively by either grace or faith; we need both, and He wants us to have the proper balance in this area. By themselves, grace and faith taken to the extreme are poisonous to our lives. If we combine them, we will see the manifestations of what grace has made available. Grace has made healing, deliverance, prosperity, and everything else we need in life accessible to us, but too many people see this as a fable. It is not God’s will for us to spend our entire lives being told about the victory and the provisions, but not knowing how to make them tangible, physical, and real to us. Two thousand years ago, the finished works of Jesus put into place everything we need. Our belief that everything is already done brings about the necessary adjustment in our thinking to cause them to happen for us on the physical level. |
The Law of Receiving (Part 2)
SummaryTo receive anything from God, it is important to understand what He has made available for us. The Bible tells us that God will provide all of our needs in life; in fact, He has already done this, and He is waiting for us to accept it. This is a serious commitment God made to us, because the Scriptures say that all, not just some, of our needs will be met. Jesus fulfilled that commitment when He went to the cross two thousand years ago, but some Christians still operate as if this never happened. Believers must know what to do to lay hold of what is available to us. There are spiritual laws that govern provision and receiving, and we must be aware of these laws. Knowing how they operate helps us to move into a position to receive. |

Spiritual Blindness: Saved, but Blind (Part 4)
SummaryIf we do not understand what Jesus did for us two thousand years ago, we will go through life spiritually blind. When our spiritual eyes remain closed, we continue to respond to situations based on our own limited understanding. This is a major problem, even within the church. Christ came to open the prison doors of spiritual blindness so that the captives could be set free from the Law of Moses. When our eyes are opened to Jesus and His grace, then we will no longer be bound by performance-based religion. In order to get the big picture of what God has done and continues to do, we must learn how to put the entire Bible in context. The Bible is divided into three dispensations, and we cannot mix them; if we operate under the wrong dispensation, we will not see God’s manifestations in our lives. |
Reacquainted with the Holy Spirit
SummaryThere is a definite connection between the Holy Spirit and the grace of God, and we must understand the Spirit’s work and His purpose on the earth. We have a tendency to get very absorbed in our own abilities and what we can do for ourselves. We can proverbially pat ourselves on the back and say, “We did that, we made this happen.” However, when we take an honest look at our lives, we must admit that there are some things that happen that defy all natural laws, things for which we cannot take credit. This is the Holy Spirit at work. Although He is a spirit, He is not “spooky” in the way we think of ghosts. He is one part of the triune God, and He is the one who empowers Christians to live Christian lives. |

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth” (Ephesians 6:1-3). |

“For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another” (Romans 2:14, 15). |

“For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life” (Romans 5:17, 18). |

“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Romans 5:5). |

“And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death” (Exodus 19:12). |
