2017 Grace Life Conference (Session 24)

SUMMARY

There is a connection between life transformation and being born again that we miss sometimes. Real transformation happens when we discover who we really are in Christ. Having the right belief about ourselves equals authentic repentance, which is a change of mind concerning our identity. This is the point where we realize that what we do does not determine who we are. Our change in identity means we are the righteousness of God and no longer sinners or defeated people. The apostle Paul, who initially had persecuted believers, was the perfect example of a person who totally believed in his new identity in Christ. The change that took place inside him when he met Jesus made him into a new creation. We undergo the same transformation when we are born again. It allows us to say, “That old person is not me anymore.”

Spiritual Blindness: Saved, but Blind (Part 4)

Summary

If we do not understand what Jesus did for us two thousand years ago, we will go through life spiritually blind. When our spiritual eyes remain closed, we continue to respond to situations based on our own limited understanding. This is a major problem, even within the church. Christ came to open the prison doors of spiritual blindness so that the captives could be set free from the Law of Moses. When our eyes are opened to Jesus and His grace, then we will no longer be bound by performance-based religion. In order to get the big picture of what God has done and continues to do, we must learn how to put the entire Bible in context. The Bible is divided into three dispensations, and we cannot mix them; if we operate under the wrong dispensation, we will not see God’s manifestations in our lives.

A Reason to Celebrate

The Reality of Satan and Demons

Summary

We are presently seeing a proliferation of evil around the world. This is not happening in a vacuum; there is a spiritual world in existence that is just as real as our physical world. Everything going on in in the supernatural realm impacts our natural environment. This is nothing the believer has to fear; although demonic activity is present, we have authority over it. The devil would like nothing better than for us to believe he does not exist; this would allow him to work undetected. With this in mind, we must examine ourselves to discern if we are unknowingly under the influence of unclean spirits in any area of our lives. The devil suggests lies to us that contradict God’s Word; we defeat the enemy by submitting to the Word of God and actively resisting every lie thrown at us. A deep knowledge of the Word heightens our awareness of the subtle way Satan makes suggestions designed to move us away from God, and gives us the advantage in our spiritual fight.

October 28

“But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth” (Colossians 3:8).

October 24

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

October 19

“Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law” (Galatians 2:16, NLT).
