Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!” (2 Corinthians 12:9, AMPC).

The Grace-Given Power to Change (Part 5)

Summary

When we struggle with sins that hold us back in life, God’s favor gives us the power to change. Grace doesn’t just cover up sin, but changes us from the inside and completely washes sin away. However, we must want to change for any transformation to take place. The first step in our transformation begins with what we believe; recognizing that there’s a definite connection between our beliefs and our speech helps us make the right confessions that lead to positive change.

Is Your Belief System Offline?

Summary

In the Old Testament, the focus was on performing; in the New Testament, the focus is on faith. What’s necessary is not faith in our own performance, but in Jesus’ perfect performance and what He has already done. This is what positions us to receive the blessings promised in the Bible. The Gospel of Grace emphasizes the link between belief and obedience; as Christians, we mustn’t stumble and fall back into thinking that our works are more important than our faith in Christ. With this in mind, we must abandon the self-efforts that religion demands from us and simply trust in Jesus.
