Summary

Living in the balance of faith and grace is important for us, because living in the extreme of either causes us to err. Extreme faith results in legalism, and extreme grace results in lasciviousness and a passive Christian. Taking grace too far also produces a wrong teaching on the sovereignty of God that says that everything that happens, good or bad, is His will. The problem with this mindset is that it does not take into account the fact the God made us free moral agents with the ability to make our own choices. Grace is God’s part, and faith is our part. Although many of us already know this, the missing link is learning what to do to gain the manifestation of what grace has already made available. By themselves, neither grace nor faith will get the job done. Only when we let them both complement each other in equal measure will we see results.
