Convenience vs. Devotion (Part 2)

Summary
Convenience can quietly become one of the enemy’s most effective strategies against our devotion and participation in God’s mission. The devil doesn’t rely only on overt temptation but also uses subtle distractions that cause us to drift from intentional living. Jesus’ mission revealed that the Father removed sin and shame, reconciled humanity to God, destroyed the works of the devil, and established a new covenant of grace. Our role isn’t to strive but to believe the gospel, yield to the Spirit, love people, and participate actively in God’s ongoing work. Grace empowers participation rather than passivity and specifically calls us to embodied community, not to isolated convenience. Taking up the cross daily means agreeing with what has already ended at the cross and living from our new identity in Christ. Devotion grows from relationship, rhythm, and presence, not pressure, and God’s grace awakens hunger rather than replacing it.
