The Glory of Curiosity

Faith

Summary

Curiosity has a divine purpose. Although God knows everything about us, sometimes He asks us questions that He already has the answers to. He does this not for His benefit, but to give us a chance to locate ourselves. After Adam sinned and tried to hide, God did this when He asked Adam where he was; Jesus also did this when He asked the lame man at the pool of Bethesda if he wanted to get well. Being curious causes us to take a deeper look at how our questions connect us to God’s power; it’s an inquisitive interest in others’ concerns. Searching, seeking, and inquiring after God allows Him to reveal things to us that have been hidden from others. Maintaining a humble attitude and always being open to learning something new enables God to teach us what we need to know.
