Day 1Living Beyond the Natural: Embracing the Supernatural Life

We live in a world driven by what we can see, touch, and measure. In this kind of environment, God invites us to live by faith in the unseen. The spiritual realm isn’t a fantasy, but the eternal reality from which all things were created. As believers, we’ve been called to walk by faith, not by sight, and to trust in the promises of God even when our circumstances say otherwise; this is the essence of living in the supernatural.

Abraham was a powerful example of supernatural living. Despite his old age and Sarah’s barren womb, he believed God’s promise and became the father of many nations. He used his faith to call those things which were not as though they were and was fully persuaded that God would do what He promised. His faith wasn’t based on what he saw, but on what God said.

We’ve become accustomed to placing our trust only in what we can see, but Paul reminded the Corinthians to focus on the unseen, eternal truths rather than the temporary things we see. The spiritual realm is more real than the physical realm, and it’s where our hope and provision reside. Aligning our words and thoughts with God’s Word lets us access supernatural resources that change our natural reality. Faith is the bridge between the two realms.

Even when we feel surrounded by trouble, God is with us. When Elisha and his servant were surrounded by a great army, Elisha prayed for his servant’s eyes to be opened; God answered his prayer, and the servant suddenly saw heavenly armies surrounding them. The supernatural was always present—it just needed to be seen. Likewise, God’s protection and provision are always with us, even when we can’t see them.

In life, things are not always what they seem. The world lives by what can be measured in the physical realm, however the life of a believer isn’t rooted in the visible but in the invisible. The Bible reminds us that we walk by faith, not by sight. Faith calls us to trust in what God has said, even when we can’t see it with our natural eyes.

Faith isn’t vague optimism—it’s grounded in the reality of God’s promises. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. It gives substance to our hope and confirms the reality of what we believe even before it manifests. It’s the spiritual lens through which we see God’s truth and align our lives with His Word.

To understand this, we must go back to where everything began. In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. Everything we now see was created by His unseen Word. God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Our connection to God is spiritual, not physical; we must therefore learn to live from that spiritual place.

In dangerous or uncertain times, God’s supernatural protection is real and active. His angels bear us up in their hands so that we won’t dash our foot on a stone. Unseen forces are working on our behalf, guarding and guiding us. Walking by faith activates the protection and provision God made available to us through His promises.

Faith isn’t about ignoring reality but about trusting someone greater. It’s about believing that what God has spoken is more real than what we see. Living this way lets us walk in the supernatural. We then reflect God’s glory in a world that desperately needs hope.

Living supernaturally begins with understanding that we’re spirit beings, created in God’s image. In the beginning when God created everything, He did so by speaking it all into existence. His Words carried power; as His children, we’ve been given that same authority. Speaking His Word activates the supernatural realm in our lives.

Meditating on God’s Word brings prosperity and success. This isn’t just material, but also spiritual success that transcends natural limitations. The supernatural life is accessed through the Word, which is spirit and life. Filling our hearts and mouths with God’s Word releases His power into our circumstances.

Jesus demonstrated supernatural living when He walked on water during a storm. However, the disciples missed the miracle because their hearts were hardened—they focused more on the natural than on the supernatural. This same hardness can affect us when we prioritize what we see over what God says. Supernatural living requires spiritual sensitivity, not just physical awareness.

God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours. His Word is designed to accomplish His will; when we align our thinking with His, we rise above earthly limitations. Speaking His Word isn’t just confession, but cooperation with heaven’s agenda.

Maintaining the correct mindset requires that we guard our focus. God promises perfect peace to those whose minds are fixed on Him. This peace is a force that anchors us in turbulent times. It’s not found in circumstances, but in unwavering trust in God.

We’ve been given a blueprint for supernatural thinking. Focusing on what is true, pure, and praiseworthy trains our minds to stay aligned with God’s reality. Living like this isn’t occasional, but a lifestyle of intentional focus on the eternal. This is His will for us.

In our walk with Christ, we often forget the unseen realm that surrounds us. In the heat of spiritual battle, we must remember that angels who are ministering spirits were sent to serve those who will inherit salvation. These heavenly beings aren’t distant or passive, but actively involved in our lives, carrying out God’s assignments on our behalf. Their presence is a powerful reminder that we’re never alone.

Jesus’ finished works have given us victory; nevertheless, we must be aware of the spiritual opposition we face. Our struggle isn’t against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil. This battle is real, but we aren’t powerless. The Spirit who lives in us is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

Sometimes, angels appear in ways we don’t expect. It’s therefore important not to forget to show hospitality, because by doing so, some have entertained angels without realizing it. God challenges us to treat every person with kindness and dignity, knowing that He may be working through them—or even sending His messengers in disguise.

Satan has declared war against us; in the midst of this spiritual warfare and the resulting supernatural encounters, God calls us to bear fruit. In the Scriptures, this fruit is described as “divine love in all its varied expressions.” Specifically, it’s joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, and kindness in action; it’s a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. These aren’t just traits to admire, but weapons of light in a dark world.

Believers are surrounded by angelic help, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and equipped with the fruit of the Spirit. We’re asked to walk boldly, love deeply, and live fully. Heaven is closer than we think.

Most people never realize their true potential because they live only according to their physical senses. This keeps them chained to their natural environment, with its shaky, temporary foundation. Living supernaturally begins by understanding that God’s Word is our foundation. Supernatural life isn’t mystical or unreachable but revealed through His Word.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and right. Aligning our thinking with God’s thinking enables us to begin to walk in the reality of His power. This is why renewing our minds transforms us and helps us escape conformity to the world.

The supernatural isn’t found in outward signs, but in the life-giving power of Christ, who is the Word. Jesus told His disciples that the Words He spoke to them are spirit and life. Receiving His Words lets us receive His Spirit; this Spirit empowers us to live beyond natural limitations. Our faith in what Jesus spoke activates the supernatural.

God’s Spirit brings freedom and resurrection life. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed us from the law of sin and death. This same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in us and gives life to our mortal bodies. This isn’t just future hope, but present power.

We were once spiritually dead; however, we’ve gone from death to life. God has made us alive with Christ and forgiven all our sins. This transformation is something received, not earned. We’re no longer bound by our past or limited by our flesh.

Eternal life isn’t just about heaven—it’s about living in God’s life now. This life is in His Son; whoever has the Son has life. Living in the supernatural means living in Jesus daily. His life in us is our victory.
