“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13).
God actively works in us to create both the longing and the strength to do what pleases Him. His love and grace empower our actions.

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world” (Titus 2:11, 12).
God offers His grace to everyone, saved and unsaved. His will is salvation for everyone, no matter who they are or what they’ve done. His Spirit instructs us to reject sin and live godly lives.

“How much severer (sterner and heavier) punishment do you suppose he will be judged to deserve who has spurned and thus trampled underfoot the Son of God, and who has considered the covenant blood by which he was consecrated common and unhallowed, thus profaning it and insulting and outraging the [Holy] Spirit [Who imparts grace, the unmerited favor and blessing of God]?” (Hebrews 10:29, AMPC).
Rejecting Christ and treating the blood sacrifice He made as unholy is a serious offense. This kind of contempt insults the Holy Spirit, who administers God’s grace to us.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
Sin in the garden of Eden opened the door for Satan to work on earth and steal everything good that God wants us to enjoy. Jesus went to the cross to reverse the damage done and give us back what was taken.

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2:17).
Spiritual death and separation from God immediately resulted from Adam and Eve’s sin. It took Jesus’ coming and the shedding of His blood to repair the broken relationship between God and man and restore life the way He originally intended.

“For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another” (Romans 2:14, 15).
Even those without the written law show its principles in their hearts. Our conscience testifies to God’s moral standard that He placed within every person.

“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18).
Until Jesus’ death and resurrection, every detail of the law had to remain in place until its purpose was completely fulfilled. He completed all the work necessary to do this and then replaced the law with grace; now, all we have to do is to believe in Him and in what He did.

“For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin” (Romans 7:14).
The law reflects God’s spiritual standard, but humanity, being enslaved by sin, can’t meet His perfect requirements through its own strength. Thankfully, grace steps in and enables us to follow its commands with the help of the Holy Spirit.

“Sin, by means of the commandment, built a base of operation within me, to overpower me and put me to death. So then, we have to conclude that the problem is not with the law itself, for the law is holy and its commandments are correct and for our good” (Romans 7:11, 12, TPT).
The law as it was given is good and spiritual, but sin twists it to condemn humanity. The real problem isn’t the law itself, but our sinful nature.
