“And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand” (Genesis 39:1-3).

Even in unfavorable circumstances, God’s presence brings favor and success. Supernatural blessings are evident to others when we remain faithful; this was true for Joseph and it’s true for us as well.

“Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another” (Psalm 75:5-7).

True elevation doesn’t come from human effort or connections but from God’s sovereign decision. God reminds us to remain humble, knowing He alone determines our position and timing.

“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” (Genesis 12:1-3).

God’s call often requires leaving the familiar to step into His greater purpose. His promises not only bless us personally but position us to be a blessing to others.

God rescues us from places of despair and instability, giving us a firm foundation. His deliverance not only lifts us out but also secures our steps for the future.

“Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope” (1 Corinthians 9:10).

Our labor in the Lord is never in vain; confident hope should fuel every effort we make. This is God’s assurance of a harvest.

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).

God’s plans for those who love Him far exceed human imagination or understanding. We can trust His unseen promises even when circumstances seem limiting.

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer” (Psalm 19:14).

David showed wisdom by praying for both his words and inner thoughts to please God. He acknowledged the Lord as his source of strength and salvation. We need that same wisdom today.

“Watch your words and hold your tongue; you’ll save yourself a lot of grief” (Proverbs 21:23, MSG).

Wisely choosing our words spares us from heartache. Silence at the right time can prevent regret.

“The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked” (Proverbs 10:11).

Righteous words bring life and refreshment. By contrast, wicked speech conceals harm and destruction.
