Is Faith Without Works Dead? (Part 2)

Faith

Summary

Salvation is something we immediately received when we got born again. As believers, our status as redeemed and ready for heaven is one thing that sets us apart from the world; it’s therefore critical that we understand what God’s Word of grace says about the relationship between our faith and our works. No striving or self-effort is needed to earn what we now have as God’s children. We’ve been saved because of our faith in God—not because of our own works—and He’s working in us to empower us to want to do good deeds pleasing to Him. God first supplies us with everything we need, then starts working in us and through us. We’re efficient and at rest when working out of the supply that God has already placed in us. Operating in His strength, not in ours, enables us to do the work that He wants us to do.
