Summary:
Trying to do life without God is pointless. Union with Christ is the foundation for fruitful lives; we can’t produce anything apart from Him. Jesus’ declaration just before He died on the cross, “It is finished,” meant that redemption, righteousness, and all other blessings were complete and therefore couldn’t be added to. Many believers still strive and grind, trying to earn what’s already been freely given, but God calls us to rest in His finished works. Rest isn’t inactivity, but alignment with what Jesus has accomplished; we maintain this through prayer, meditation, and fellowship. Living in relationship with Him means that spiritual fruit flows naturally and striving ceases because grace empowers us. The days of self-effort are over; we now stand in faith, believing what’s finished and living from our seamless connection with Christ.
