Summary
Even after getting born again, we’ll still have moments when we commit a sinful act and fall short. However, we’re not what we do, but what God says we are. Regardless of our shortcomings, accepting Jesus makes us righteous in God’s eyes. When God looks at us, He therefore sees righteousness, not sins. Religion makes sin a central issue, but Jesus took care of it permanently when He went to the cross and took all of mankind’s sins on Himself. Believers have lost their old, sinful natures that separate them from God, and can stand before Him with full confidence. We’re now no longer sinners, but saints.
