Much has changed from the old covenant to the new covenant; because of what Jesus did on the cross, what was true under the law may no longer be true under grace. In the Old Testament, man’s performance was the deciding factor in whether or not God was able to bless him; in the New Testament, our faith in Christ —not our acts—positions us to receive the blessings already made available to us. We no longer have to strive to be saved, blessed, righteous, or forgiven; Jesus has made available to us everything we could ever want or need in life.
