From Darkness to Light

05 Oct 2026

One of the greatest gifts God has given us is the ability to see spiritually. When we lack spiritual vision, we only respond to what’s happening around us on the physical level; this often leads to fear, frustration, and confusion. God never intended for us to live that way. When there’s no vision, people lose direction, but spiritual sight gives us purpose and confidence.

Spiritual blindness keeps us focused on our own efforts, but spiritual vision points us to what Jesus has already accomplished. We don’t earn our place in the light through perfect behavior. We receive it by faith in Christ. Understanding that God has already rescued us from darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His Son changes everything. It prompts us to give thanks to the Father, who made us fit to partake of the inheritance of the saints.

This clarity also reveals our true identity. We’re no longer defined by our past mistakes, failures, or limitations. God has made us His own people. Seeing ourselves the way He sees us allows us to walk with greater confidence, peace, and godly wisdom.

Jesus came to open blind eyes, not just physically but spiritually. His ministry centered on bringing freedom, revealing grace, and helping people see what religion and legalism had hidden from them. Growing in our understanding of His finished works opens our eyes to truths that transform the way we live. Spiritual vision enables us to recognize God’s goodness even in difficult situations.

When challenges arise, spiritual vision allows us to see beyond temporary circumstances. Like Elisha’s servant, we may initially focus on what appears threatening, but God can open our eyes to the greater reality of His presence and power. That kind of insight produces godly wisdom. We stop being moved only by what’s visible and learn to trust the eternal truths God has already established for us.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for opening our eyes to see Your grace, truth, and finished works. Help us walk in spiritual clarity and godly wisdom, trusting what You say above what we see. In Jesus’  name, amen.
