Grace That Stays

Weekly Meditations

08 Dec 2025

Despite our born-again status, we can still miss God’s simple message to us about His love, mercy, and forgiveness. Sometimes we think grace is just a concept, or something we study or sing about. Grace is a person, and His name is Jesus. Understanding this shifts the focus from trying to earn what’s already been freely given to receiving what’s been waiting for us all along.

Living under this new covenant means sin doesn’t get to boss us around anymore. We don’t have to be perfect or follow a checklist of religious rules. We simply need to trust that Jesus already handled everything on our behalf. The more we focus on Him, the less power sin has in our lives.

Grace doesn’t shrink back when we mess up—it superabounds and increases even more when we feel like we’ve failed. God isn’t keeping score but offering us freedom. The Spirit of grace doesn’t condemn us, but instead teaches us how to live well, with wisdom and strength we don’t have on our own.

We don’t need to be afraid of judgment or punishment; Jesus took care of that, once and for all. Now, the Spirit reveals things to us that eye hasn’t seen, and ear hasn’t heard. These are deep things and good things we couldn’t understand before but that bring life. Grace opens our eyes to see what’s already ours in Christ.

God wants to teach us how to live in a way that reflects His heart. His mercy covers our past and shapes our future. The Spirit of grace leads us into truth, not by force, but by love. Leaning into that lets us begin living with purpose, peace, and power.

Even when we feel broken or unworthy, grace refuses to leave. It doesn’t walk away when we do. God promised never to leave us, and He meant it. That kind of love changes us from the inside out.

Prayer:

Lord, we’re thankful that You never give up on us. You help us to trust in what Jesus already finished so that we can live boldly in Your love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
