The Secret to Overcoming Spiritual Paralysis

As believers seeking a deeper understanding of who Jesus really is, we must go deeper than religious definitions. Jesus Christ was not simply a man sent by God, but the creator, Himself, in human form. Having a relationship with Him doesn’t require us to be perfect and sinless, but Satan would like us to think otherwise. His plan is to trick us into thinking that God never forgave us through Christ.

One of the enemy’s favorite tactics is to convince us that we’re still guilty, flawed, and unworthy of God’s best. Buying into those lies makes us spiritually stagnant, afraid to move forward and hesitant to receive what Jesus has already provided. However, everything changes when we become aware of our innocence and righteousness in Christ. We begin to see that darkness can never overpower the light God has placed within us, and that truth keeps us moving instead of standing still.

Religion often points us back to our failures, but Jesus points us to our new identity. Through Him, all things were created and hold their purpose, which means our lives aren’t accidents or afterthoughts. Recognizing that we belong to Him and were created through Him and for Him frees us from living beneath our potential. The enemy loses his ability to paralyze us when we understand who we are and whose we are.

Jesus isn’t merely a path to victory; He’s the way, the truth, and the source of life itself. Because we’ve been made righteous through Him, we can approach God confidently instead of shrinking back in fear. Under the old covenant, people stood at a distance, overwhelmed God’s displays of power and afraid to come near. Fear produced separation, but grace produces relationship.

Today, we haven’t come to a frightening mountain marked by terror, distance, and condemnation, but to a better covenant established on what Jesus did. Knowing our righteousness keeps us from being trapped in negative emotions. Maintaining our innocence-consciousness foils the devil’s plans.

Prayer:

God, You made us righteous simply by receiving Your Son. We maintain that stance regardless of what the enemy says. Thank You for helping us remain conscious of our innocence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
