“And you, who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having freely forgiven us all our transgressions, Having canceled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross. [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross]” (Colossians 2:13-15, AMPC).
Christ went to the cross to secure our complete forgiveness and freedom. Every accusation and spiritual opposition has been publicly defeated, leaving us victorious in Him.

“And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end” (Hebrews 3:5, 6).
Under the law, Moses displayed complete faithfulness and obedience to God, yet he was still a servant. By contrast, under grace, we have a place in God’s household because we’re no longer servants, but children.

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God” (1 John 3:1).
The depth of God’s love has no limits; He loves us so much that He made us His children when we accepted His Son. Being His sons and daughters elevates us from the world’s spiritual and moral decay and allows us to live in righteousness and love.

“For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator” (Hebrews 9:16).
In our earthly legal system, a last will and testament can’t be activated until the death of the person who wrote it. The new covenant of grace works the same way; it was necessary for Jesus to die for us to be freed from the law and inherit all the grace-based promises He made to us.

“Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth” (2 Timothy 2:15, AMPC).
Spiritual clarity comes from diligent study and accurate handling of Scripture, and spiritual integrity comes through disciplined learning and truthfulness. We must therefore practice excellence in both scriptural knowledge and application.

“So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you” (1 Peter 5:6, 7, MSG).
The world teaches us to push our own agenda in a “dog-eat-dog” environment, but God tells us differently. He encourages humility and trust, reminding us that His timing for promotion is perfect.

“Don’t work yourself into the spotlight; don’t push your way into the place of prominence. It’s better to be promoted to a place of honor than face humiliation by being demoted” (Proverbs 25:6, 7, MSG).
Self-promotion often leads to embarrassment; there’s a lot to be said for humility and patience. True honor comes when we allow God (and others) to elevate us in His timing, not ours.

“He will even deliver the one [for whom you intercede] who is not innocent; yes, he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands” (Job 22:30, AMPC).
Everything God does is motivated by His love for us; He’s therefore more than willing to deliver even the ungodly and dispatch the Holy Spirit to begin changing them on the inside. This is one of the things intercessory prayers can do.

“Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come. And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church]” (Ephesians 1:21, 22, AMPC).
Christ has absolute supremacy over every form of power and title, both now and forever. As believers who are already seated at the right hand of the Father, we share that same authority.
