Understanding Your Jesus Identity

Knowing our identity in Christ elevates our lives to a whole new level. Jesus’ death and resurrection defeated sin, brought reconciliation to all of humanity, and defined who we are in Him. Under grace, sin isn’t what we do, but being out of sync with our true identity as God’s sons and daughters. Knowing who we are allows us to walk in authority; it means living in agreement with God concerning who He says we are. We’ve been made holy and righteous without us having to earn this status by our performance. We no longer have to rely on useless self-effort, because victory in life is one of the finished works of Jesus. Being aware of what has already been done for us protects us from the enemy’s lies and attacks.
