“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread” (Psalm 37:23-25).
God directs the path of the righteous and sustains them even in difficulty. He’ll never abandon His people or leave them in need.

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:13, NLT).
God Himself gives us both the will and the strength to follow His plan. We don’t have to rely on our own ability to please Him.

“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” (Psalm 119:130).
God’s Word brings clarity and wisdom where there is confusion. Even those who lack experience gain understanding when His Word enters their hearts.

“Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new creation. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new” (2 Corinthians 5:17, TPT).
Union with Christ brings complete renewal, making the believer a brand-new creation. The past is gone, and a fresh, heaven-based reality begins.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Gazing at the Lord’s glory by constantly reading and meditating on His Word progressively transforms us into His likeness. This is a gradual process that the Holy Spirit works in us.

“They replied, ‘We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?’ Jesus told them, ‘This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent’” (John 6:28, 29, NLT).
Religion tells us the way to spiritual productivity is through constant works. Jesus had to clarify this mindset and explain to the people that the essential work is simply to believe.

“And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness” (Genesis 15:6).
God recognized Abram's faith in His promise as righteousness. Believers have been freed from law-based self-effort, and are now justified by faith.

“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2).
When Jesus offered His body and blood as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, He made peace between God and mankind. His sacrifice extends beyond just believers to offer salvation to all of humanity.
October 26
“So also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him” (Hebrews 9:28, NLT).
Jesus’ one-time sacrifice removed not just sin, but also the associated guilt and self-condemnation that accompanies it. The required work of atonement is now complete; when He returns, it will be to save those waiting in faith.
