“The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies” (2 Samuel 22:3, 4).
The news media tends to focus on overwhelmingly bad reports. When we start to feel vulnerable and afraid, we can turn to God for protection; there’s no enemy strong enough to overpower Him.

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8, 9, NIV).
Every life has pain, but what sets believers apart is the strength from God to resist the things of destruction. We can expect trouble to show up, but we’re able to endure it when we lean on Him.

“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully” (1 Peter 5:7, AMPC).
God didn’t create us to be anxious or worried. When we feel the stress and frustrations of life weighing us down, He wants us to give them all to Him. He cares about us deeply, and He watches over us constantly.

“Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:4, 5).
God values a humble attitude. An indication of godly humility is setting aside our selfish tendencies to focus on others’ needs instead.

“A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit” (Proverbs 29:23).
The world exalts pride, but the world doesn’t know Jesus. Humility isn’t being a doormat, but agreeing with what God says. A humble attitude like Jesus’ pleases Him.
