“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).
Scripture originates from God’s breath and carries divine authority. It shapes our beliefs and corrects our path so that we can live upright lives.
May 18
“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified” (Acts 20:32).
In an environment where people are confused about who they are, God’s Word of grace strengthens and establishes us in our identity. It not only builds us up but reminds us of the inheritance already secured through Christ.

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive… And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:14, 32).
Spiritual maturity stabilizes us so that we aren’t swayed by deception. At the same time, grace is the blueprint for our living that transforms our relationships, calling us to extend the forgiveness we’ve received through Christ.

“Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark” (Isaiah 8:20, NLT).
God’s Word serves as our standard for discernment and light. High-sounding, churchy teachings that conflict with Scripture reveal spiritual darkness rather than truth.

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ” (Colossians 2:8, NIV).
God warns us to guard our minds against ideas that oppose Christ-centered truth. Anchoring our beliefs in Him shields us from the world’s deception and spiritual bondage.

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4).
The Old-Testament Scriptures were preserved to instruct and teach us today, but not to live by them. All the covenant of the law pointed to Jesus; He brought us into the new covenant of grace under which we live today.

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God” (Matthew 22:29).
Ignorance of Scripture and of God’s power leads to spiritual error. Knowing both gives us the weapons we need to win in spiritual warfare while keeping us aligned with truth and faith.

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
The Holy Spirit, the indwelling power of God, lives within us. Our victory over the devil, who is the god of this world, doesn’t depend on external strength but on the greater one who lives inside.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).
We’re called to diligently handle Scripture with accuracy and understanding. Rightly dividing the Word protects us from the world’s confusion and anchors us in sound doctrine.
