“Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away” (1 Corinthians 13:8-10, NKJV).
Spiritual gifts operate within human limitations, but love endures eternally. God invites us to value maturity and completeness over partial understanding.

“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil” (Matthew 4:1, NKJV).
The same Spirit who empowers us also leads us into testing. Spiritual maturity grows when we trust God’s leading even in difficult seasons.

“When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him” (Matthew 3:16, NKJV).
The Spirit’s descent affirms divine approval and inaugurates Jesus’ public ministry. Heaven responds to us when our obedience and identity align.

“And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, ‘which,’ He said, ‘you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now’” (Acts 1:4, 5, NKJV).
The early believers were instructed to wait, not work, until the Spirit arrived. For us to accomplish the mission God gives each one of us, we need the baptism of the Holy Spirit to mark a transition from natural preparation to supernatural empowerment.

“And behold, I will send forth upon you what My Father has promised; but remain in the city [Jerusalem] until you are clothed with power from on high” (Luke 24:49, AMPC).
Jesus connects divine calling with divine empowerment, making waiting a necessary part of obedience. God’s promises are fulfilled not through human effort, but through heavenly power received.

“And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty” (Philippians 4:13, TPT).
The world encourages self-effort, but believers think differently than others. God uses the adversity we go through in life to teach us to trust Him to get us through even the most difficult of circumstances.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper” (Psalm 1:1-3).
The world defines the word “prosper” simply as material or financial success. God’s plan for us includes success and prosperity in all areas of our lives, not just financially.

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14).
Worldly standards focus solely on temporal things, and individuals operating by these standards are only aware of what they can detect with their five senses. Spiritual things make no sense to people like this because spiritual discernment is necessary to become aware of the things of God.

“But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:14).
When we’re first born again, we’re infants in Christ; we don’t yet have the discernment that mature Christians develop over time. Spending time with God lets Him feed us spiritually so that we gain the wisdom to judge between good and evil.
