God wants the best for us, but He’ll never force it on us. He made us free moral agents, and He’ll always respect our right to choose.

“Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness…Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord” (Psalm 150:1, 2, 6).
We never need to be afraid to be seen praising God. When we glorify Him and we’re not ashamed of other people seeing it, there is restoration waiting for us.

Shame and unbelief are tied together. If we’ve been suffering because we’re trying to hide an unrighteous deed from others, our belief in God’s promises puts us in a position to receive His mercy and forgiveness.

Words are powerful, and if we’re not careful, we can dig a pit for ourselves and fall into it. In order to not let our mouth cause trouble for us, we must watch what we say.

“To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:43).
The spiritual battle against shame always takes place in our minds, which are the arenas of faith. When we believe Christ has forgiven us of our sins, the shame we have because of them will disappear.

“Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:7).
The voice of shame will tell us God will never forgive us because of a sin we’ve committed; but God never lies. We have His promise of forgiveness and mercy.

“But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you” (Psalm 130:4, NIV).
When we feel ashamed, it’s hard to forgive ourselves; but there is no reason to walk in shame and condemnation when God has already forgiven us. We can either believe our own condemning thoughts or believe what God says.
