“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage” (Galatians 5:1).

Through Jesus, God has freed us from the law-based mindset that kept gender relationships in bondage before the cross. Now that we know the truth about God’s intentions for relationship equality between men and women, we must not let religion put us back into bondage.

“But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter” (Romans 7:6, NKJV).

When we know that God has forgiven us of our sins, we can forgive ourselves. This frees us from condemnation, guilt, and the law of sin-consciousness and spiritual death.

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed” (Psalm 28:7, 8).

The joy that comes from God is an anointing that gives us strength we don’t have on our own. We receive this joy when we trust Him in all situations.

“Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation” (Habakkuk 3:17, 18).

Happiness comes from our comfort, but joy comes from what we know. When we believe that God’s promises of restoration will come to pass regardless of what we see going on around us, we’ll have a deep joy that can never be dislodged.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3, NKJV).

Hopelessness is from the devil, but through Jesus, God has given us a hope stronger than evil. This kind of hope is straight from heaven, and it’s based on all the promises God made us. The belief that each promise is true drives out all doubt.
