“Más Jehová estaba con José, y fue varón prospero; y estaba en la casa de su amo el egipcio. Y vio su amo que Jehová estaba con él, y que todo lo que él hacía, Jehová lo hacía prosperar en su mano” (Génesis 39:2, 3).
No tenemos que poseer lo que el mundo cree que es prosperidad. Cuando José fue vendido como esclavo, él no tenía nada en absoluto, pero aun prosperó. Fue porque él confió en Dios como su fortaleza.

“And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand” (Genesis 39:2, 3).
We don’t have to possess all the fancy external trappings of the world to be prosperous. When Joseph was sold as a slave, he had absolutely nothing, yet he still prospered. This was because God was with him.

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever” (2 Corinthians 9:8, 9).
Real prosperity is defined by how much we give away, not how much we keep for ourselves. It is not about meeting our own personal needs, but about meeting the needs of others.

“Y poderoso es Dios para hacer que abunde en vosotros toda gracia, a fin de que, teniendo siempre en todas las cosas todo lo suficiente, abundéis para toda buena obra” (2 Corintios 9:8).
Verdadera prosperidad se define basada a lo que damos, y no a lo que guardamos para nosotros mismos. No se basa en nuestras necesidades personales, pero las necesidades de otros.

“Y bendito sea el Dios Altísimo, que nos entregó tus enemigos en tu mano. Y le dio Abraham los diezmos de todos” (Génesis 14:20).
Después que Abraham derrotó a sus enemigos en la batalla, él inmediatamente reconoció quien era responsable por su victoria y dio gracias. Como cristianos, operando igual cuando nosotros damos nos bendice y bendice a otros al igual.

“And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all” (Genesis 14:20).
After Abram defeated his enemies in battle, he immediately acknowledged who was ultimately responsible for his victory, and he gave out of gratitude and thanksgiving. As Christians, having the same reflex action in our giving blesses us as well as others.

“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ” (Colossians 2:16, 17).
Under the old covenant when the people lived under the law of Moses, they were required to rest on the Sabbath day. This was a foreshadowing of Christ. Now that we are under the covenant of grace, Jesus Himself is our Sabbath and our rest.

“Por tanto, nadie os juzgue en comida o en bebida, o en cuanto a días de fiesta, luna nueva o días de reposo” (Colosenses 2:16).
Bajo el antiguo testamento cuando las personas vivían bajo la ley de Moisés, ellos requerían el día séptimo. Era el presagio de Cristo. Ahora que estamos bajo el convenio de la gracia, Jesús es nuestro reposo.

“Hermanos míos, considérense muy dichosos cuando tengan que enfrentarse con diversas pruebas, pues ya saben que la prueba de su fe produce constancia.” (Santiago 1:2-3, NVI).
El gozo viene por lo que sabemos, y consideramos todo lo que las obras acabadas de Jesús ha hecho disponible para nosotros, sentimos ese gozo. Cuando enfrentamos situaciones que prueban nuestra fe, poniendo nuestra fe en práctica, nos ayuda a vencer lo que vence a otros. Este tipo de paciencia produce carácter.
