Empowered by God’s Finished Works

Weekly Meditations

04 May 2026

The longer we go through life, the more we see how divided the world is. We see two groups of people—those who choose to rely on their own efforts because they don’t think they need God, and the ones who have learned that success in anything only comes from depending on Him. To succeed is to be empowered to get results. This is exactly what grace does for those who trust in the Lord.

We see grace when God shows up in our struggles to do what we can’t do on our own. When Jesus showed up full of grace and truth, He wasn’t coming to condemn, but to empower those who believed in Him. Religion tries to get us to focus on our behavior, but grace keeps pulling our attention back to Jesus. When we really see Him, we start seeing ourselves the way He sees us.

Grace powerfully reminds us that God has already provided everything we need for life and godliness. He’s not scrambling to come up with answers or blessings, because He already loaded us with them through Christ. The more we grow in truly knowing Him, the more we discover just how complete we already are. The Spirit of grace never leaves us lacking; He keeps revealing what God has already placed in us.

Grace and faith are intertwined; grace has made what we need, and faith takes it. God has opened the door to every spiritual blessing; we step into that room through faith. This faith becomes effective when we start acknowledging every good thing that’s already in us because of Jesus. We’re not trying to get God to give us something; He has already given us everything.

Faith comes by hearing and rehearing what the Word says about Jesus’ finished works. The more we hear the truth, the more confidence we’ll have in what grace has provided. We can now rest from our striving and simply receive.

Prayer:

Father God, thank You for opening our eyes to what grace has already provided. Help us to grow in the knowledge of You so that our faith can become strong and effective every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
