“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it” (Psalm 37:7, 9, 34).
We can rest easy when we trust God enough to wait on Him. We need not fret or be anxious about what we see around us because He’ll deal with evil people according to His Word.

“But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance” (Romans 8:25, NKJV).
When God makes a promise, His guarantee that it will come to pass by faith gives us joyful hope. Whether we see results right away or eventually is irrelevant—we develop perseverance while patiently waiting on the manifestations in our lives.

The world tells us there are many ways to get to heaven, but God’s Word reveals that there’s only one way. Trying to follow religious doctrine instead of following Jesus leads us into confusion.

"Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:14-16, NKJV).
When we go through life’s toughest, most painful times, we can take courage knowing that God sent His Son to go through the exact same trials and tribulations. He triumphed, and so can we. Jesus is always available to help when we need Him.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything” (James 1:2-4, NIV).
Following in Jesus’ footsteps guarantees that we’ll face trials, temptations, and persecutions. We can rejoice when we encounter them, knowing that temptation is the devil’s way of trying to get us to become weary in our Christian walk. We defeat him with a joyful attitude and the willingness to persevere.
